Dicelex is a single-player browser game with no accounts, no sign-up, and no personal data collection. This page explains exactly what is stored, where, and why.
What we don't collect
- No name, email, or account information.
- No advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
- No cross-site profiling or fingerprinting.
- No data is sold or shared with third parties.
Local storage
Your game progress is saved in your browser's localStorage so you can refresh the page and resume where you left off. Two keys are used:
dicelex.daily.v1— the current day's board state, accepted words, and undo count.dicelex.stats.v1— your streak, win distribution, and unlocked achievements.
This data never leaves your device. Clearing your browser's site data for dicelex.app removes it permanently.
Analytics
We use a self-hosted instance of Plausible Analytics to understand how the game is used in aggregate. Plausible is cookie-free and privacy-focused: it does not collect IP addresses, does not fingerprint visitors, and is GDPR / CCPA / PECR compliant by design. Recorded events include page views and a few anonymous game milestones (tutorial opened, share clicked, etc.) — never anything that could identify you.
Sharing
The "share score" button uses your device's native share sheet (or clipboard) to compose a short text snippet. Nothing is sent to Dicelex when you share — the message goes wherever you choose to paste it.
Hosting
The site is served as static assets. Standard web server access logs (timestamp, URL, user-agent) may be retained briefly by the hosting provider for operational purposes.
